Five local pastors were trained and welcomed to serve the Brenham Police Department on a voluntary and as-needed basis.  On this occasion, each of the pastors was given a jacket with clear identification as Police Chaplains.

The chaplains frequently ride along with the police officers to get to know them better, and to make themselves available in case circumstances require their services.  Some occasions have already arisen where their presence was helpful in dealing with the death of a citizen, or where one or more officers requested support.
